Please Note:
- The names found on the cenotaph were put forward by citizens of Peterborough and a citizens committee in the mid-1920s. Many names on the cenotaph are miss-spelled, inaccurate, or list soldiers that have no distinct connection to Peterborough. For that reason, only 587 of the 628 names found on the cenotaph are geo-located on this google map. Many names for soldiers could not be found in military records, attestation records, or Commonwealth Grave Commission ledgers.
- Men with no known military record are placed into Confederation Square (where the Cenotaph is located).
- Soldiers with no known address are placed in Victoria Park.
When composing this map, I found it remarkable that grief and loss struck almost every neighbourhood and street within Peterborough County.
